Six cards for Rudolph Day

I almost lay down on the floor here and threw a tantrum when I realised that Sarn wanted SIX cards for this month's Rudolph Day challenge. In the end I caved in, wouldn't wanna miss the fun, but did take the option of making six almost the same, only the sentiments vary slightly:

I promise those cards at the back aren't just blanks, didn't feel up to climbing up on a chair or stepladders to take a photo.

I used:

- 4.75" x 4.75" square white card stock

- Hobby Art's 'Flower Wreath' stamp, stamped using a Dew Drop ink pad in 'Mediterranean Blue'

- double sided clear sticky film and a coating of Art of Craft's own iridescent glitter'

- blue and silver card as backings

- Craftwork Cards Christmas sentiments

Another six for the box Sarn - what's coming next month then?

I'm also entering this into this week's Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge which is to 'Get Inky'. Wonder if getting covered in glitter along the way gets extra brownie points? :)

And also, 52{Christmas} Card Throwdown - add some glitter.

I waited all day yesterday for my new laptop to arrive, it turned up at about 4pm and I swear the driver was grumpier than Shrek - he also looked a bit like Shrek. He practically threw the box at me but I did thank him nicely, in between jumping up and down like a kid at Christmas, and he just thrust the electronic signature machine at me and barked 'Sign 'ere', sigh, how unpleasant. He grabbed it back and off he marched, something had obviously gone wrong with his day :(

But I just bet it got even worse if, when he got back to the depot, anyone noticed that I'd signed his flipping signature pad doo-dah like so ..................Minnie Mouse xx :)

  2. I almost did a you then and nearly spat my tea out at the computer!! I'm so impressed by the consummate ease with which everyone seems to tolerate, even perhaps enjoy, glitter! It's a lovely effect but I just can't face it!! I bet on the cards at the back you've written a naughty message to Sarn about having to make six!

  4. That's another six done! And they are very elegant (no extra point for the glitter - lol!). Thanks for getting inky for my CHNC challenge 78 - hope to see you again soon. x

  5. Naughty, naughty Di, but I did have a good laugh. I ought to try that out here, but the Spanish delivery man wouldn't even notice a false signature and that would spoil the fun a bit!
Lovely cards, but you don't need to go mountaineering to photograph them. Just stick one of your stash boxes under the back row, and at least half of them would show.

  6. Lol, I have always wanted to do that but just scribble and then they usually ask me my name!???!!! There's a certain job description for delivery drivers, which is:

    1. How far can you kick this box?
    2. How grumpy can you be on a regular basis?
    3. How fast can you drive our delivery van?
    4. What's the closest you can get to the car's bumper in front?
    5. Are you quick thinking with excuses?
    6. How many cigarettes do you smoke a day to impregnant the package?

Not that I dislike delivery drivers but they generally seem to fulfill the above criteria!

    BTW, great cards Di :)

    Have a good day x

  12. I've always wanted to sign those electronic things "Cat Burglar" just to see if anyone is paying attention. And by the way, cat burglars don't break in your house and steal your cats; made my hubby sad to learn that. And....I wanted to join a Christmas challenge to get going on Christmas cards, but decided that jumping into one that requires SIX of the suckers was far too ambitious for someone who suddenly has no time to play. I really like what you've done with your cards. I love the glittered coated fronts. I was going to ask you how you did it but you answered my question in your supply list. I love glitter on cards but I get it everywhere and then I get itchy, but I think its just in my mind (like I'm just have a psychosomatic reaction not an allergic reaction).

  13. That technique looks familiar Di!!!! It's such a lovely delicate look to them. Karen x

  14. Wow, I love the glitter! Looks great! I have a stamp set very similar to that circular one (might even be the same, never used the christmas sentiment!) and I find it nearly impossible to get a decent image from it - is there a knack to it?? M x

  16. Sorry it's a bit late tonight, seem to have had a marathon commenting session and as I work down my dashboard, I have just arrived at yours.
Brilliant Christmas card and why not go for it girl, I knew you could do it, but like you say, isn't it awkward trying to take photo's of so many cards.
Love the blue and all the sparkle and also a the silver touch, another 6 down for you.
I was also awaiting a parcel, Birthday present for my Great-Niece to deliver on Sunday, been in the house, everyday till 11.30 this morning (Thursday) and back in the house at 11.40, parcel delivered in the mean time but the lovely guy left it in the greenhouse for me and it was supposed to be signed for, oh how they differ these delivery men.

  21. I ran out of time for this and now I'm seeing everyone with LOADS of Christmas cards and I'm feeling cross with myself... Yours are just perfect Di! I love the glittery panel - but how does the wreath show through? Or do you stamp it over the top of the glitter? Glad to hear you're all sorted with your new laptop even if you did have to deal with Mr Grumpy! Can I just say in defence of delivery drivers that my UPS man is the loveliest and most helpful man! 22. Hi Di, thanks for your comment about the stamp positioner... but that wasn't quite what I meant! :) I already have one! What I actually meant was about getting a good image - mine come out streaky! Any tips for that?? M x
