Pixie's Crafty Snippets - Week 57

Yikes, this post almost didn't get written - but I cleverly washed all the tiled floors downstairs and mopped my way right to the bottom of the stairs so I could nip into the craft room and do a quick post while they dried, me not totally daft.

First, my snippets card:
It's a bit of a cheat 'cos the only real snippets are a couple of pieces of ribbon that were lying on the desk.

I used:

- 8" x 8" card stock with the front totally covered in a whole sheet of Raspberry Road backing paper, which came free with Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine - ages ago

- the most fabulous tag - absolutely NOT my own work although I did replace the ribbon. It was made by Dee (aka Peggy when she comments) along with two others quite some time ago - she doesn't have a blog as yet and is too busy even if I set her one up, but I live in hopes 'cos I'm sure she has some lovely work to share!

- the other piece of ribbon was just tied around the spine of the card

I thought the paper and the tag just screamed out to be used together - thank you again Dee!

I got Len to do the draw before he went out (for fear of being mopped down I suspect) and the winner of all those lovely flowers is:

Congratulations Brenda! Hope you have fun using them - and perhaps show us a result sometime soon.

I think this week has been the busiest I've known in the Playground - perhaps it was all the snow confining us to our craft rooms :)

Some makes which caught my eye:

A stunning grandfather clock, with workings plus two albums - the smallest one fits into a secret compartment! How clever is that? It was made by Bubbles of Patchwork Apples - it's great to see you blogging again honey and welcome to the Playground.

This lovely card was made by Mary H - using a paper napkin! There's a link in her posting which shows how to do it - fabulous!

Laura made this fabulous white on white anniversary card - it's just perfect!

And, just to make you smile - cheeky Sam made this 'snow chook' during the snow we had last week:

Once again - some brilliant entries, I just wish I could cover every single one - but to see them all you can always go to last week's posting here.

And finally - here's a card from two weeks ago:

It was made by Kath of 'Handmade by Kath' and I fell in love with the way the die cut hearts had been interlocked by Kath. So clever - and what d'you know, the draw for this coming week is................................

A set of Cuttlebug Concentric Hearts diesthe same as Kath used - just in time for Valentine's Day. I loved them so much that I found myself dropping two sets into the online shopping basket so you could have a chance :)

So, if you want to join in the Playground fun and frolics and be in with a chance of winning this set of dies - the Playground is open all of this coming week but it will close on Saturday 2nd February at noon, UK time and Mr Linky is below as usual. Just enter a snippets make into the Playground this week and I'll do a draw after the Playground closes next Saturday. But, I am asking for a snippets make please, maximum of three entries and please say 'No thank you' in a comment if you DON'T want to be entered.

I'll post to anywhere in the World BTW - it's open to all of you lovely Playmates, the flowers won by Brenda will be going all the way to Canada.

Remember, it's Rudolph Day over at Sarn's until the end of January - that's on my 'to do list' for today.

Di

  10. I thought you were going to say the post nearly didn't happen because you had mopped yourself away from the craft room!

  11. I love the addition of that sweet little tag to your card. It has a breath of spring to it :)
I'm glad you received your card all the way across the pond. I sent a birthday card over a week ago to a friend of mine who lives about 800 miles cross country and she still hasn't received it! Thanks again for your help, I appreciate it SO much :)

  14. Gorgeous card, Di. I liked the Raspberry Road papers so much, I bought the magazine. Needless to say, I like them so much I've barely used any yet.

Congratulations to Brenda - I'm sure she will have fun with those flowers :)

I love the creations you've highlighted from last week. I was totally stunned by the 'grandmother clock' too.

Love the die set and would be delighted if I won them - I think I've worked out how Kath interlocked the hearts :)

Right, off to see what snippets I can use up this week.

    Hugs, Eli

  21. Hello Di, lovely colours in your card! A kind comment on my blog led me to you. What a great idea to have a snippets challenge!! I can really justify my "collecting" now :)

  22. What gorgeous design papers in your card. Can't wait to buy a magazine and get something free when I come to England...teehee

The tag looks custom made for that card!

The prize looks wonderful but please don't include my name. i have won a lot of prizes lately and I feel it should be someone else's turn. Off to work on my next card...This year, I am trying to use up the snippets from each card so am making similar cards till they are gone...I don't post those on my blog as it would be boring! But it sure does keep the snippet pile from falling over!

  24. What have you done to me Di? I'm turning into such a frugal crafter that Hobby Craft may go out of business without my buying loads of stuff there *lol*
I LOVE the little snow-chook - how cute is he!?
As always, your crafting skills are amazing - always so pristine and perfect!
Time to go have a peek at some sites on the list - have a great week!

  26. Your cards always look lovely, and then when I read about how fast you put them together...gracious, I just can't work (or think!) that fast. It sure didn't look a quick make. So pretty, and everything worked so prettily together. And Congratulations to Brenda. I see so many neat cards at the Playground so far. That anniversary one is super, and since I have a special one coming up that needs to get 'designed', gave me lots of ideas. Thanks for the Rudolph 'minder too! Hugs & I'm glad SOMEBODY got their floors cleaned. I didn't! And would love a chance to win the dies...Thanks to the donor no matter whose name Mr. Len may select. Hugs

  33. Very pretty card Di. Sometimes our snippets are bigger than other times. The fact it added beauty to an already beautiful card, makes it a snippet well used! I have to tell you, Mr. Linky and I are having an issue posting a photo. I will try again later. If I don't, I think that is quite an accurate depiction of my loveliness. :-) Off to bed I go. Have a wonderful week.

  34. Beautiful card Di, love the pretty butterfly on the tag. The colours are very delicate and remind me of Summer.

Well done Brenda on your win!

I'd love to be included for the cuttlebug please but need to ask, can it be used with a Big Shot as I don't have a cuttlebug machine. Thanks xx

Have a lovely weekend, hugs xx
